By enacting the Civil Rights Act in 1964, the United States embarked on a transformative journey towards equality and justice for all Americans, regardless of their racial and ethnic background. Decades ago, courageous civil rights leaders and activists marched with American flags to compel the government to uphold America’s founding ideals.
This year, we marched again, not only to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, but also celebrate the great progress our country has made towards its founding ideals.
Let us honor the courage and sacrifice of the previous generations of civil rights leaders by continuing the effort to achieve Dr. King’s Unfinished Dream.
